…Hooray! Anyone else looking forward to it?
Wimbledon is only like playing ping pong but on a larger scale
Oh God noooooooo!
Wimbledon is a horrible place to try and work in during wimbledon tennis.
I was with BT in that area during that time and everything was for the tennis. The police who were bought in to help especially treated us like scum. they tried stopping us from getting to resident homes to do jobs by blocking off roads, which in fact is against the law (wireless and telegraphy act) and gave priority to courtesy cars for the players.
All looks great on TV but what a hell of a lot of high toffee nose tossers they are in real life. Even treated telephone engineers trying to get lines into the site with contempt.
This is the other side of all the artificial gloss conned to the general public
Some new talent for the ladies this year, mainly Stefanos Tsitsipas (Yes, I’m sure you will like this cool looking dude).
Watching Djokovic - Kohlschreiber at the moment and hoping that the ‘shirt ripper’ will get knocked out (unlikely though). Also enjoying the dulcet tones of the ever unintelligible Borith Becker.
I agree with you Rhosyn … a big Hooray from me too!
I am a staunch Wimbledon fan and will be watching as much of it as I can.
Starts today does it ? can I get a cheap holiday on the moon for two weeks.
Now that Centre Court and Court No1 have roofs there wiil be continuous coverage.
Watson … Out!
Edmund … Out
Oh dear, back to normal again Shame about Edmund’s injury though as he played so well in the first two sets.
It looks like we’re going to have to rely on Andy Murray to give us something to cheer about … as long as Serena doesn’t hog the game in Mixed Doubles.
Yes it was a shame. Edmund being two sets up at one point. I went into the garden to do something and by the time I got back he had lost.
Murray & Williams should be interesting.
Is it tomorrow that Murray and Williams are playing, LD?
I think so Mags. If I hear otherwise I will let you know. :-p
Thanks!
Just heard that it’s on friday. :-p
Ahh … thanks LD!
I don’t dislike Wimbledon.
What irks me is that it wipes out all regular BBC programmes. On bothe BBC 1 and BBC2.
Thank goodness for Wimbledon. A glimmer of sanity in a crazy world.
Makes a change from bleedin’ football played by obscure teams no-one’s heard of just being shown for the sake of it
