White tailed eagle

Wow what a start to 2023. A white tailed eagle! A bird I have wanted to see and photograph for so long, and finally it has become a reality. The size of this bird is absolutely unbelievable, making buzzards and red kites look tiny. You can see why they are nicknamed “flying barn doors”. This has certainly set the bar high for me for the rest of the year. In terms of experience, this will be a hard one for me to top in my wildlife photography.

The real problem for these magnificent birds are military airbases.

@macywack I wish, taken by a photographer whose name is on the image. They have been tagged so their positions are monitored.

Taken off the coast of Norway

A White Tail Eagle congratulations how fabulous .
I would of been so excited , I did see an osprey at Rutland Water , it had been perching , there was a massive flapping of wings to take off.
