Which Human Organ Is Useless?

No … not that one. Everyone knows that one … the appendix.

There seems to be a few organs and body parts that are obsolete.
There’s the coccyx… our old ancestral tail.
The adenoids and tonsils…
I never ever thought about our Wisdom teeth but apparently they’re from when our jaws were larger and we needed some hefty duty grinding tools to chew all those seeds and nuts we munched.

And why do men have nipples?
And that little spongey bit in the corner of your eye is the remnant of a third eyelid.
All fascinating stuff.

Oh I forgot this one

Darwin’s Point … a little knobbly formation that can stick out from the curve of your ear lobe … that’s thought to be the remnant of a joint that allowed the top of your ear to fold down.
Great for keeping water and dirt from blowing into your ear canal on a windy day.

Not useless as such, as the spleen performs a function, but we can live without it.

I am doing ok without a gall bladder thank you

My brain is obsolete, and did little other than to get me in bother.

I wish I had had it removed and become…

1/. A Labour MP?
2/. A “celeb”

….

Feel free to offer suggestions of other things :+1:

A great topic Morty…

But just because we don’t know exactly what they do doesn’t mean that they don’t do anything…
I’ll just hang on to my surplus bits if that’s okay…

Everyone needs a vent

Why bother with a spleen when you can have lots of vaccines for immune defence instead.
