Which Era Has Been Your Favourite?

My favourite eras have to be the 1960’s and 1970’s.
For me they were such fun years, out and about, laughing, dancing meeting new people. Wearing the latest fashions from boutiques. Following Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton and Mary Quant. Having Vidal Sassoon hairstyles. Following Kathy McGowan.

The saddest thing is, you can never go back to those wonderful times but instead feel happy that you were there…

So l ask, what was your favourite era?

Yes, I liked the 60’s and 70’s too.
The mini skirts, the Beatles, having fun, and just generally feeling young and alive.

The twenty-tens has been the best era for me - I was always responsible for someone from childhood until the late noughties - then suddenly I was free, with kids grown and living alone.
In the twenty-tens, I escaped from the daily grind of work and that decade was my time of ultimate freedom, fun, fitness and a happy-go-lucky lifestyle, with lots of holidays, travel and new experiences with a lovely new fella.

All that travel and fitness evaporated with the start of the twenty-twenties, when Covid came to town. :frowning:
Hopefully, we’ll get our second wind and start travelling more again soon, so maybe the twenty-twenty decade will turn out to be just as good - starting in 2022! :sunglasses:

The ‘60’s and 70’s were totally awesome. I loved the innocence of society, the music and the introduction of coloured tv.

The concerts were fabulous in the ‘70’s as well as the fashion. Bell bottoms and halter tops were so fun.

The ‘80’s were great too. Clubbing was in and I loved dancing. The funniest part were the friendships I made with others. I had some great friends and a larger group of acquaintances who all got along. We did a lot of fun things together.

Well, in the '60s and '70s I was nobbut a child, though from what I remember it was an ejoyable time.
The '80s were perhaps my favourite decade. Following the Falklands, we were undoubtedly highly respected by the rest of the world.
Unfortunately, after Thatcher was stabbed in the back the country seems to have gone down the drain, increasingly rapidly under the leadership of BLiar and Brown.
I’m sorry to say that this is no longer the country of which I was proud.

I suppose the 70s was the only decade I took any notice of, so that must be my era.

Bratti, l agree with everything you say in your lovely post and l can identify with it all.
I had forgotten to mention the music concerts l went to and the famous artistes I saw.

Also, the friends l made during that time and l am still friends with them now.

…and l forgot to mention Barbara Hulanicki…

No, not really. It just wasn’t as unexciting as the other eras. My musical taste was formed by 70s music. I was in a band for a while, but there is as much about that that I would rather forget as remember. I imagine that period between leaving school and getting married is a particularly significant time for everybody.

Personally I enjoyed the Mesozoic Era best of all, the Age of Reptiles and Confers, a time of big things, alas I was born too late to get the full benefit.

Harbal, l won’t delve but can you tell me what your band was called and were you famous?
What instrument did you play and… did you have trouble with ‘groupies’?
