Where Do You Put Your Hands/Arms Before You Go to Sleep?

Wow! That was scary. I would die on the spot if l saw a face peeping through the window! Eeeeeek

Wow, this is worse than an episode of Crimewatch…don’t have nightmares!

Well done Arty, you have given us a thread for everyone to take part in if they wish and it hasn’t been turned into nastiness. :+1::clap:

I am so glad you said that Jazzi! I have a chenille blanket that I hug, its so soft and warm. Plus its easy to throw over me on top of the duvet if I get cold. Generally though I wake up with my arms over my head like a baby

That sounds like a challenge  (joking)

It’s coincidental that you have raised this thread now - if you had asked me a few days ago, I would have said I had no particular “arm position” or “sleeping routine”
However, the last few days has taught me that I have!

I must have damaged a nerve or pulled a muscle or something when I was reaching up to prune my apple tree a couple of days ago, and for the last several days it has been painful to try to raise my left arm above my head.

I first noticed it when I was trying to get to sleep - it made me realise that as soon as I have switched off the light, I snuggle down to sleep by lying on my right side and raising my left arm to curl it over the top of my pillow and hug the pillow snugly into the curve of my neck.
For the last few nights, I have attempted to do that but the pain from my shoulder has stopped me - then I have spent hours, tossing and turning to try to find a position comfortable enough to enable me to fall asleep.
Despite knowing it hurts, I keep automatically trying to reach up with my left arm to cuddle that pillow until the pain stops me again, so it must be a subconscious habit!

I sleep on my back ,my left hand is by my side and my right arm is tucked under my head.

Lucky fellow!

One hand on the side of my face to support it as I don’t like the feeling of softness from my pillow, and the other usually on something cool like a wall or headboard.

JBR… more like… unlucky fellow to put up with me!

Wow! Blondy…l hadn’t got you down as a contortionist!!

Have just finished scratching my ear with my toe, otherwise I would have responded sooner

I’m impressed!
Can your toe reach the top of the wardrobe, or open your bedroom window?

Of course, especially when I sit on top of the wardrobe at the end closest to the window😉

Depends. If I’m tired enough, then hands to the side.

If I’m still a little wired from the day, then I do a sort of exercise where I hold my fingers one by one with the other hand. My hands and a little lower than chest level for that.

If I can’t sleep, I sleep with my arm under my pillow on my right side.
