I have to fold up my dressing gown, and hug that to my chest, so my arms have somewhere to go. But I am a restless sleeper, moving constantly to get the right position. If on my right side, one arm can be hugging the DG, the other flung out in a straight line, or under the pillow. Or both hands under my chin. On my L side, I am close to the edge so it’s both arms around the DG. If I don’t have that under my duvet there is no way I can get comfortable.

In Yoga they used to teach us the opposite. They said laying on your LHS lets the blood feed into the heart better. The RHS takes blood away from the heart.

It would give me the willies in a blacked out room Maree. Even the thought of not being able to see anything bothers me.
I open my curtains half way, because I find it so peaceful to see the night sky, moon and stars twinkiling.
My hands and arms are where they always are and that is coming out of my shoulders.
Maybe sleep on a rotisserie then you get the best of both worlds
