When I first heard the term "Rooting for you" I was taken aback

Here in Australia, “Rooting” predominately means sexual intercourse.
Why were so many people saying, “Rooting for you”?
Were these people offering me coitus?
I have since learnt in the US “Rooting for you” means cheering for you, hoping for your success etc.

Same in the UK Bretrick.
If you’re ‘rooting’ for someone, you’re hoping they win or do well…
Be nice if the price for winning was a night with a sexy mature woman…
I say ‘Mature’ because they don’t expect the world and can be discreet…

Now you all know why many plants with unrepeatable names were named by men (fact), but as I do not know any of you or your sensitivities, I’d best not name them. My wife likes Orchids, which is Greek for balls, opps sorry that just slipped out. Then there is …no, no.

Anyway, kindly leave my nose out of this! :nose::sob:
