When did you last talk to someone Face to Face?

While I was on my walk this morning I was thinking about shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings, as one does when out walking.

It suddenly occurred to me that apart from casual chatting to the girls in the supermarket and the odd “G’day” to passers by I haven’t actually had a face to face conversation with anyone since Boxing Day.

I have spoken daily on the telephone to many people but I don’t think talking on the old mobile is quite the same as face to face, do you?

It’s a funny time of the year when everything social seems to shut down.

What’s your experience?

Today I saw my Daughter most of the day, a neighbour & her dog & we chatted to her & petted her dog. My Daughter & I went to a local charity shop & chatted to the workers there, we know them. Same with the local Co-op, know the staff there too. Guess with my Daughter we have had conversations with around 6 people over the day.

Hi

I am now basically house bound.

I find it extremely difficult, I am a gregarious type of person.

I have helpers, which I pay for, and I normally get to talk to
face to face daily.

Holidays are difficult for me, much less contact and any contact is very brief.

It’s a rare day when I don’t see several of my friends face to face. Today, saw four of them at the grocery store. Actually spent about five minutes with three of them in the aisles. Then, another 15 minutes catching up with another. She shared her events at Thanksgiving with a very controlling daughter-in-law.

This is what happens every time I need bread and eggs. Small town where everyone knows you. …(and still likes you anyway)

Mrs d00d keeps me amused.

Lots of folks do face to face, fewer do eye to eye

In the pub today, an old buddy from The Royal Mail.
We chatted and reminisced about all the workmates that are no longer with us :slightly_frowning_face:

Face to face? Today . This morning. In the mirror … and she was a miserable old nag.

I’ve mentioned it before but I used to complain that going to mall (and before that Coles) took far too long because of chatting to all the people I knew - friends and acquaintances, workmates, neighbours etc.

These days I can go the mall everyday for a week and see no one I knew even vaguely. I know more of the girls in Coles and Woollies having seen them start straight from school, grow up and have children but we are merely on nodding terms.

The forum satisfies most of my oral communication needs Bruce, But Mrs Fox is usually on hand for some gossip if she’s awake that is… :009:
