When did something start out badly for you but in the end turned out ok?

Learning to drive. In 1992 I paid for 6 driving lessons, went for the test. Failed. Paid for two more lessons, Failed. Two more paid lessons, finally passed. $300 later.

My motto is, if at first you don’t succeed, give up!

:grinning: No, if I had done that I would not have my drivers license. :grinning:

Why so fast? Some things are really worth a second try and can be finished sucessfully if you’re a bit more tenacious.

If I want something a lot I do put some effort in but being naturally lazy I can convince myself I don’t really need it.

Very often which is why I’m still here and why I wouldn’t know where to start. It actually makes me think if there’s ever been the opposite, i.e. things or situations that looked bright at the start and then changed for the worse? Can’t think of any. The dominant impression remains that there were usually obstacles to overcome or things turned out well due to sheer luck.
