What was the most recent compliment you’ve received?

Got told I’d made an excellent job of repainting and reorganising the craft room to her requirements. A ‘better than nothing’ compliment I suppose.

I have had several people asking my age (those that know me) and saying I don’t look it. Have to admit I am a bit proud of that. However, as my body now gets very stiff and achey, and I struggle to turn over in bed, or get out, I feel my age.

Latest “compliment” I had was when my sister in law asked why I hadn’t looked for another relationship since my husband died. I replied that single men my age were either looking for someone 20 years younger or a nurse! She said she was sure there were men out there like me “nice!”

It’s said that eavesdroppers never hear anything good about themselves - but I accidentally overheard a lovely compliment this week.

I was in my bathroom, drying off after a shower, with the bathroom window open to let out the steam.
I heard my next door neighbour outside in her driveway talking to her step-daughter, who was visiting her. I heard her step-daughter asking her how she got on with her neighbours and I heard my neighbour say that I was the best and kindest neighbour she could ever hope to have.

My neighbour is a very sweet and kind lady - and I don’t mind being talked about with comments like that! :revolving_hearts:

Elderly lady, a bit short on inches. Trying to reach a magazine off the Top Shelf.
Being the ever helpful Gent!! Lifted her up by the Bra straps.
“Ohhh. Thank you Young Man, that was lovely, it tickled me pink!”
NB. Anyone under 70yo waz a young man 2 that lady.
Gent in a wheelchair whizzed round the corner, Shouting.
"Why have you left my wife. Half In and Half Out. I didn’t want that copy of "Playboy"anyway.
Never let age inhibit.

Same here. Cannot remember the last compliment.
Hm, what did Oscar Wilde say “we are so poor, the only thing we can afford now are compliments”? Not sure if he really said/wrote that.

I received a compliment today. I was told that I’m the ‘sweetest manager’.

My two adult kids would beg to differ :104:

After eating a delicious meal with Mrs Fox, Daughter and her hubby present, I gave out an enormous belch…Daughter said I was not fit to eat with pigs, and Mrs Fox said I was…That was the nicest most supportive thing she has said for years…

Just today in the elevator, a gal complimented me on my sandals, and how lovely my feet looked!

Not enough to get me all puffed up, but still…a compliment is a compliment :slightly_smiling_face:
