I’ve just dug out an old book of mine, Mysteries of The Mummies by Rosalie David. A young woman’s likeness was reconstructed using those kind of techniques.
Scarily enough I bought that book back in 78 when it was published.
There used to be a TV series with Julian Richards called “Meet the Ancestors”. Archaeologist Julian Richards pieced together the lives of long-dead people. That’s where I first saw it, I found it fascinating.
