I hadn’t watched many tv shows for a couple decades. When I started watching again, everything was me to me. I started binge watching shows with a passion.
For me, a binge watch worthy series generally has a cliff hanger at the end, has recurring characters and is slightly trashy.
If the story is elaborate or beautifully done, I want to savor them, so I don’t binge through them.
Some of my favorite binge watch series have been Lost, Revenge, Private Practice, Terra Nova, Lie to me, White Collar, Royal Pains and Merlin.
I recently found a new binge watch worthy series called Manifest. It’s been fun.
The BBC version of pride and prejudice .
Oh Mr Darcy ! Ooops I’ve gone all unnecessary.
The Detectorists has to be my all time favourite series.
I must of watched the entire series at least three times.
McKenzie Crook and Toby Jones a great team along with an amazing perfect cast. I might watch a couple of episodes later this evening I’m addicted to it.
Then there’s Frasier I just love the pernickety Niles. I’ve binge watched the series in sections, there’s tons of it and always on the TV.
Dad’s Army takes some beating in my book.
I have the DVD box set, the humour is superb, tears streaming down the face.
Simpler times perhaps. By that I mean the sixties and seventies when the series was broadcast…I wasn’t around during the war.
I’m currently binging Star Trek Brave New Worlds, after that it’ll be House Of The Dragon and when it aired, Star Trek Picard. There are several other series I want to watch…but there just doesn’t seem enough hours in the day.
I guess you can. HotD predates GoT by about 120 years and is it’s own story, focussing on the ancestors of one of the GoT characters, which it mentions right at the beginning.
You can definitely watch House of the Dragon without being even aware of Game of Thrones. The one does not depend on the other. It’s more a case of if you’re a GOT fan you can go “OH!” and will get references, see how things built up before GOT began, but overall it’s absolutley not necessary to have watched the one before you can watch the other. Mind you, if you enjoy HotD then it’s likely you’ll want to see GoT after it - luckily there are like eight seasons of it, and it really doesn’t flag much across the entire thing. Word of warning: if you haven’t see Game of Thrones, be prepared for a lot more sexual nudilty and really visceral violence than you’ll see in House of the Dragon, and be aware too that you will have to watch it all; it’s not a show you can dip in and out of. Well worth watching though, and I think Sky have it on demand at the moment.
Yeah, there is some violence in HotD but it’s definitely not as pronounced as in GoT, where everyone seemed to leave the episode missing at least one part. Sometimes vital ones.

Manifest for me also, but Stranger Things too, watched those as they were shown. Neither Manifest or Stranger Things have finished & I’m looking forward to their last series. I binge watched Game Of Thrones & am now watching Torchwood. Have no idea why I never watched that on TV when it was shown.
It really annoys me & probably everyone else who watches these series, that they hold up on their releases. We have only had part one of the last Manifest series. They have made part two, but no release date.
I also liked Britannia. it had a brilliant cast & hopefully that will have a new series too. They did leave it up in the air a bit.
That’s high on my list also. Stranger Things was a slow start for me so I gave it up but I’ve heard so many great things about it that I might try again.
Grace and Frankie had me laughing out loud on the first episode. That one is also on my list.
I’m wondering if that 2nd release of season 4 of Manifest will be the series ender.
