I saw both Elvis Costello and Dr Feelgood at the Palais, when they were too big for the pub circuit but not big enough to fill the Hammersmith Odeon.
Saw the Ramones at The Hammersmith Odeon in 1980, their world tour, Dee Dee was still on bass. Great fun it was too…
Don’t they look young!
I’m guessing that must have been in the 1980’s.
I had fled the nest to the FE. By then.
The venue was certainly an icon of entertainment. Both pre and after ww2.
I seem to recall someone telling me, it was once also an Ice Rink. But not sure if they were referring to Wembley.
We had the ‘KiKi’ club up North with ‘Pickety Witch’ ‘Kiki Dee’ and ‘Charley Williams’

I was referring to the flyover
It’s a fly-under now.
Or maybe one day.
And of course there was The Clarendon Hotel. Saw a couple of bands there. I wouldn’t want to do the mosh pit thing these days thank you very much!
I avoided the Mosh Pit thing.
Just googled it, and it was demolished in 1988.
Sounds like something you’ve stuggled to say when you dentures are out.
