I have two “favourite” savoury comfort foods to warm me up and cheer me up on a cold winter’s day -

Home made vegetable soup, with hot buttered toast
or
Heinz Tomato Soup, with hot buttered toast

If we’re talking about sweet stuff, for the most warming and deliciously comforting Pud, my vote would go to
Eve’s Pudding with custard.

(For anyone not familiar with “Eve’s Pudding” , it is slightly sweetened Bramley cooking apples baked in the oven beneath a light sponge pudding, served with lashings of freshly made hot custard) Yummy!

I’ll have that !!!

Sorry, soup is not food it’s a drink and I’d rather have a beer.

(I accept that Chinese Soup is the exception to that)

Some soups are thin enough or smooth enough to be drunk from a cup, like Heinz tomato soup - but my home-made veggie soup is definitely not something you can drink - it is more like a thickened stew or casserole, full of chunky vegetables.

Yes, they also sell tasty Indian party snacks in little boxes too. Cheaper if you buy a selection of three.

let’s party like it’s 2025.

I don’t like Indian food or curry the smell alone puts me off it

Angel Delight. (Preferably butterscotch)

One packet of butterscotch Angel Delight suitably whisked. I’m going to try putting it in the freezer and eating it like ice cream :yum:

Well it’s been a slow kind of day…

We also have Carte d’or icecreams!
I don’t know if I ever tried Angel Delight when I lived in London, I remember my mum often bought trifle mix and those packets of jelly where you just added boiling water.
After dinner this evening , I’m having a portion of the “tiramisù” I made earlier, definitely qualified to be a comfort food. My son’s already tasted, says it great. A celebration for my fridge being back in form, I suppose.
