What is a lesson that took you too long to learn?

Lending money to so called friends.
I lost thousands over the years, lending to people and never being paid back.
One day I said no more.

Give what you can, never lend to anyone. My mantra especially with relatives, do not do emotional guilt trip, no obligation.

It is difficult to say no, glad you have toughened up, sometimes you have to be for yourself and them.

@Bretrick At school it was Latin and The Classics. Now in later life it’s trying to be the voice of reason when a dispute kicks off between two adults who really should know better. I just can’t stand aside and witness two otherwise reasonable adults verbally kick the blanket adhesive :poop: out of each other.

I can definitely relate to that. :+1:
I have very few friends these days but that’s not a bad thing. I feel much more happy and content now, the pressures off.

Avoid toxic people, think we have all had to but they never seem to be aware.
