What have you done with your camera today

Thanks Boot. I love shop window reflections too.

Light coming through my blinds/shutters, reflecting off the rim of my pc monitor, today.

Not showing for me…have you deleted it? I have a grey stop sign in the middle of the screen :astonished:

I saw the photo earlier but it has disappeared now

I was walking to the local council centre this morning when I noticed some strange fungi. So I took a pic with my phone.

The wet weather has killed a lot of new growth but fungi seems to have benefited.

I think they are called Stinkhorn, they smell of sewage or rotting meat.

Yuk!

I created a new google photo album but forgot to mark it shared. I hope it works now.

Kitchen tap reflected in double glazing. Had to use manual focus for this.

I’ve been busy in a photography studio doing a portrait and fashion shoot. Now spending every waking hour on a PC post-processing them. Maybe I may stick one or two up later when I’ve finished.

Microphone upgrade for camcorder and cameras

Quick explaination, just ordered a stereo/directional microphone as one unit. OK now into why ? there are several issues, at the moment I am using a Sennheiser MK400 directional microphone which is great apart from a couple of annoying features. First replacing the AAA battery via a flap underneath which means the mic has to be removed, Second it has a fixed cable which means on the Panasonic HC-X1500 to get it to work has to have a connector to join up with the XLR cable and ports if used on the handle.
The second Mic I have is the Boya SM80 stereo mic which is absolutely excellent on picking ujp x/y sounds but it is so rigid on a hotshoe the slightest tap on the camcorder it picks up. Obviously not what is wanted when recording. no shock proof

Found a solution and already placed an order for the Azden SMX-30v microphone. This is the latest upgrade to the 30 version. And I think it is well worth anyone considering getting a mic. So what attracted me to it.
First and formost it is 2 microphone in one, Stereo and directional, then there is having the 2x AA batteries loaded from the front so no having to take off camcorder as before. Then there is the detachable lead so a XLR cable can go straight into it. The batteries have longer life than the earlier version. Being able to dial in balance using both directional and stereo mix. being able to turn 30 degree left or right withot removing off hot shoe. Power switch is either on /off battery or camera powered If camera powered switches off with camera. All this and still has the normal controls as well ie low pass filters etc.

Those are the main features that attracted me towards it, no having to change from one mic to another and has a 10 warranty.

A steal at $450. We are looking forward to enjoying some great movies from you.

As I’m getting a little bored with wildlife and flower pictures, I was given the chance to move forward and do something in a more interesting direction. This is one of a few hundred pics I took at a studio shoot, with a professional model, using three flashguns and two strobes and an awful long time with various programs to make the final image.

The final finished photo of the model looks really professional. I can well understand getting fed up with taking thousands wildlife and flower pictures. You look as a if your taking the portrait route whereas I am taking the video route. Both create new challenges and methods to deal with and overcome.
