Where possible I will always avoid confrontation.
Not that I steer away from controversial topics, but if the discussion turns nasty then I ignore those comments. One should be able to talk about controversial subjects without malice.
I don’t mind a bit of confrontation as long as there’s no actual violence.
At times these are the types of conversations I enjoy very much. A difference of opinion, explaining why you feel strongly about a subject, is definitely welcomed in my world.
But…not if it’s an idea put out to deliberately rankle, do harm, or taunt one into a confrontation.
Conversations derived from both stupidity and arrogance. I also avoid those who seem to be part of a clique and not interested in the relevant conversation or topic, but purely see any thread as their own personal chat room – I have asked for threads to be deleted because of this.
Constipation.
Karaoke… some of my postie buddies (ha!) set me up in a bar on Brighton pier during a booze up many moons ago. I had to be a good sport and perform, the trauma stays with me to this very day!
This describes what I consider trolling. I try to avoid people doing that.
@Bretrick As someone who has always had to look antisemitism squarely in its evil face, confrontation is something I grew used to from an early age and therefore I deal with it as second nature. I do not run away from it and nor do I deliberately square up to it as usually each case is different and requires different approaches. To run away will please the aggressor and in most cases a confrontational and rational approach will put the agressor off guard and leave them open to your point of view.

The only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to say nothing .

Nappies would avoid those
Threads on some current affair. It’s all over the news, I don’t want more.
