I think I may still have some penalty points on my license but I don’t know what they look like.

You can simply log into DVLA and get your licence validity statement (I think this is called a D737 form). This will show any current infractions and penalty points.
It’s ok thanks. I logged onto the DVLA website - gave my drivers no & national insurance no & was able to view my details.
Currently I have just 3 penalty points.
