What books are you reading now?

Dandysmom.
No I have not read any of those books. Agree with you about the films adapted from the books, never come up to expectations, but if I watch the film I don’t read the book.

I am reading at the moment A Mistletoe Kiss by Katie flynn, I dont always read what the synopsis says about a book, but I thought this was about Christmas, going by the title. Very wrong, the book begins its tail in 1934.
When i first started reading i wasent sure if i was going to enjoy a story that begins in 1934 and ends in 1939, but i have been pleasantly surprised. It is a very good book and one that i am thoroughly enjoying,
I will certainly be looking out for other books by this author.

Just finished reading “Before I Go To Sleep” by S J Watson…a psychological thriller. Am now continuing books by Lesley Pearse which I’m enjoying.

I’m still hooked in the Powerless series by Jason Letts. I’m in the fourth book with more to come. It’s absolutely addicting. The Kindle version that I read are only $2.99 apiece. I am still not tempted to see how many more books are in this series. Lol

I just started Wilbur Smith"s Monsoon; looks like a good read.

Just finished Kate Atkinson’s “When Will There Be Good News?”, and absolutely loved it. My first read by her - so I am looking forward to finding her other books somewhere?

Now I am reading Kathryn Stockett’s “The Help”. Also a good read according to me. Must admit that I shed tears quite early in this book & I honestly can’t remember the last time this happened to me while reading.

Amazon feature a lot of books by Kate Atkinson, but not sure if that’s much help to you in Norway?

Still on Monsoon, it’s a 800+ page novel; a great read. I forget who here told me about Wilbur Smith, but thanks! I’ll look up his others.

I used to read Wilbur Smith books years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them, but there are so many authors out there that it is fun reading different styles.

I have just finished Private London by James Patterson and I have now moved onto Sworn to Silence by Linda Castillo so far it has kept my interest

My OH is a great Wilbur Smith fanatic, as soon as he sees one he hasn’t read, he has to buy it…

Mags, has he thought about a Kindle?

Has any one any idea what "One day "is like, every one is talking about it, but they dont seem to like the Film that has just come out.

I am reading Choral Society by Prue Leith. About three middle aged women who befriend each other when they join a choir. Enjoying it

That sounds interesting sordy, might have a look at that, like thrillers but cant do with sloppy books.

I find reading difficult at time, the weight of the book and makes my neck ache so I ‘read’ audio much better and can listen while I am doing housework etc

Just read Jamaica Inn … Daphne du Maurier … great read.

That is a great read, but nothing beats her Rebecca!

Very true!!
I love the Brontes too … my favourite story of all is Jane Eyre … I see there’s a new film of that coming out … might be worth a peek?!

Jane Eyre, Jamaica Inn & Rebecca - all great reads. Loved to hear them on the radio too. Not to keen on the tv/film adaptions though.

Visited my library today & found three books by Kate Atkinson; Started Early, Took My Dog - Case Histories & One Good Turn. Really looking forward to reading them.

the shell house by linda newbery
not my normal sort of book, alternatly in the first world war and the family home at the present time, it is a story of young love ,faith and sexuality. As two young people unravel a mystery
