War Cry by Wilbur Smith
… its about the usual rich handsome clever successful (but not modest ) Courtneys between the wars .
This is the type of book I can appreciate. I will look for it, thanks.
Have started re-reading some HG Wells novels I read a long time ago - just on with the First Men in the Moon at the minute.
On this recommendation I am now reading this on the Kindle app.thank you .
I read Midnight Line by Lee Childs whilst on holiday…
Typical Jack Reacher novel…another great read.
I’m now reading the short stories collection of Jack Reacher.
Not to taxing on the ol’grey matter but enjoyable nonetheless.
I’m slowly working my way through Terry Goodkinds ‘Legend of the seeker’. A brilliant continuing story which I started reading over 20 years ago. I’ve got 3 hardback volumes still waiting to be read, when I can get around to it. About 12 or so books in the series. The guys nothing if not prolific!
I am currently reading Legend of the dawn. By JR Wright. It is a Triology. On the kindle of course.
What did you think, Muddy? Did it hold your interest?

Im reading The Farm by Tom Rob Smith atm …
The novel confronts issues of mental health, family, and truth. Protagonist Daniel’s life is collapsed by an unexpected phone call from his father, who informs him that his mother is suffering from intense paranoid delusions. Daniel’s mother, meanwhile, claims that she is wholly sane, insisting that Daniel’s father is part of a group that sexually accosts young women in their local Swedish district. Daniel is left torn between his parents and unsure of whom to trust.
Glad you ladies liked “How To Walk Away”.
I have another …
I am in the middle of “Bring Me Back” by B. A. Paris.
Fiction about a man who’s wife disappeared, but he doesn’t share all the details of that night at first. After twelve years, he finds clues she is still alive, while he’s engaged to her sister and about to marry her…Well written, easy to get through, and I think the ending is going to surprise me. I hope so!
I’ve just started The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I don’t often read a book more than once but I read this before, back in 2001. And something made me think of it again recently. A beautiful book.
some of you may be familiar with the above book and might like to see the above article. I also stumbled upon this video … quite fun.
I’m reading about the life of Joseph Grimaldi.
Just finished The Last Hours by Minette Walters. Surprisingly for this author it is a to be continued story which you don’t realise until the last page.
I’ve just finished ‘The girl on the train’ and to be honest I didn’t think I’d see it through to the end but I did.
I had no sympathy for the main character - her friend must have been a saint to let her stay in her flat - getting drunk, being sick all over the place…
The other two women seemed to be unstable too!
It was alright but not one I could say I enjoyed.
