What are your New Year's Eve or New Year's Day traditions?

When I was young, the tradition on New Year’s eve was to play a lot of fireworks and on New Year’s day to eat a special soup.

Do you have any special traditions for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day?

I may or may not stay up to watch the Sydney fireworks on TV at midnight. (only just over four hours to go)

A sip of whisky at midnight and we wish each other a happy new year.

Sit up to watch the fireworks on the telly, have a drink at midnight. Go to bed.
