What are you listening to right now?

Eric Clapton, I’ve known of for years, but I heard ‘Tears in Heaven’ on the car radio and have since bought his ‘Unplugged’ CD.

I never thought I’d appreciate ‘blues’ so much. I’ve heard ‘Layla’ before, but my favourite remains ‘Tears in Heaven’ - it moves me to tears too.

I’m listening to the Traveling Wilburys Vol 1 LP and the Roy Orbison solo song “You’re Not Alone Anymore” is currently playing. Great song.

I do like Roy Orbison, thanks Jim.

I don’t know why everyone is so horrid to her

And the answer Bruce matey is:

old 60’s songs

Im listening to the internet…40’s big band music, currently a tape from long ago, Bing Crosby interview and music

Very Steampunk, great!

A bit of nostalgia

Remember the best Olympics ever? Remember the Minister for Education in the Gillard government? remember Sorry Day?

Well here they all are together - a classic from Midnight Oil

Oh I adore that one from Gladiator too, Solo! Love it love it! Not watched the film yet, can you believe.

There used to be a terrific channel on Sky that played music videos, like that one, of good classics, operas and pops. From that channel I discovered artistes like Blake, Sarah Brightman and a fabulous track from Andrea Bocelli which makes the hairs stand up on my neck.

On my iPad so cannot put up a link.

Canto della Terra, Andrea Bocelli. Please Youtube it. Just listened again and it got me all goosebumpy. The duet with Sarah Brightman is also good. It’s the bit later on where the choir joins in that gets me most.

This is the link to the official video, the one that I first saw on the Sky channel mentioned above. At 3.13 in, the choir starts. I play it loud in my car!!

What am i listening to right now …OH mowing the lawn . lol

Worse than goosebumps, this piece of music always brings tears to my eyes. It the saddest, most poignant piece of music ever written.

Of course it is Dove sono i bei momenti from The Marriage of Figaro and you get two for the price of one! If you are not moved by this then you have no soul.

Rolling Stones at Hyde Park on BBC HD now.

Like that one

I’m listening to PP Arnold at present, especially her version of “God Only Knows” by the great Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame and co written by Tony Asher.
Brilliant version of this by Arnold, better than the Beach Boys original,in my opinion!
