What are you listening to right now?

Yes, I saw that years ago, it wasn’t bad either.

However I can’t stand anything by the awful Andrew Lloyd Weber, Worse the half wit completely ruined Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats for me, a book I had loved since childhood.

yes he drives me mad too, its the faces he pulls, imagine being married to him!

The music I am into at the moment is Norman Greenbaum Spirit in the Sky.

My grandaughter put this in my music folder the other day

She wants to be a Goth… and this BVB music is her favourite. Mum is very tolerant, and allowing her some leeway. She is a lovely bright girl, into horse riding and cooking. I’m hoping it is a phase she will grow out of quite quickly.

I would not worry over much Jan, it could have been far worse, rap or even the spice girls - did they?- would have been far more of concern to me if one of my grandkids had started following those genre.?

To be honest, that track is not all bad, for certain not to my taste but quite well put together.

I would think as far as your grandaughter and this band is concerned it will be a quick phase.

They seem to have been manufactured along the lines of Motley Crue, Kiss and many other american glam metal bands. So much so I was wondering if Gene Simmons was the makeup artist

Things have really not changed too much over the years, I remember many media folks saying that pop music was the spawn of the devil. There were some pretty ‘outrageous’ tags attached to certain bands.

I think it was Bernard Levin in his guide to the sixties music and who after listing very many singers and groups pronounced that " The bulk of the output of all these, including that of the Beatles themselves, vanished, quite rightly, down the memory-hole of instant oblivion "

We still have ‘Hi Guys’ Mr Cliff Richard so the good Lord allowed one of the evil dead to survive.

Hope your grandaughter continues to listen to here sounds.

Rock on.

Mustang Sally - Joe Cocker

Its a phase they go through! My Grand daughter went through it, as far as music is concerned at the moment i seem to be going into my past and a lot of music my son and his school friends played are coming into my mind, the house was full of boys playing Guitars badly!.

Y’know, I reckon Lady A has similar musical tastes to my own…so, how 'bout a track from this current group who specialise in ‘oldie’s’…

Speaking of Joe Cocker…how 'bout this live track?..(ok, Im well aware he don’t look too good on stage, but can’t you just sense the feeling he put’s into this?..(and I dedicate this to anyone who can feel it, ok?..
