That took me back down Memory Lane to the early 60s, AB … a friend and I went to the Hippodrome to see David Whitfield and after the show we queued at the stage door to get his autograph! We were thrilled to bits!
My wife did the same at Blackpool and it was all she could talk about for days.
It was a shame he died so relatively young:-(

There was another very popular song written and performed by your own Johnny Cash after he made a visit here in the early 60’s, I think it made No.1 over here, ‘Forty shades of green’, different from what he usually does.
