What are you listening to right now?

This is another piece from Carmina Burana written for a soprano which in this video is Lucia Popp.

This lady could sing a bit and she is peerless in this version although the video is not all that good. Sadly she died at a very young age and robbed us all of her voice.
Fortunately she has left behind a lot to cherish.
Short, but to savour.
Enjoy.
In Trutina

Going to see her in Camden Town in Nov

Imelda May - Kentish Town Waltz

I enjoy Hoppe’s music , I had never heard of him until you bought him to my attention Hammer

I am glad that you like the music Meg.
I think the best album I have is Afterglow.
He often collaborates with a lot of musicians and Afterglow is no different.
These two, Martin Tillmann and Tim Wheater are no strangers.
This particular track is very special given the date tomorrow.

Long Ago

Whilst in Paphos there was a music festival and the Czech Opera company were performing Jacque Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffman” in the open air at the castle at the end of Paphos. The hotel were able to obtain a seat at the opera for me and I had a truly magnificent evening. This is the famous aria from that opera: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u0M4CMq7uI

As ever of a morn, listening to “Vanessa” on BBC Radio London.
Don’t know why I do it… I find the show eternally infuriating !
