What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Still plumbing the depths of my cauldron trying to finish the Rabbit stew - still have a couple of suet dumplings in there too.

Defrosted a foil tray of something, which turned out to be pork and cider casserole. So a yummy supper, with other veg.

We are having Cod, Chips and Salad for lunch today.

Finishing the last of my Rabbit stew today. Was going to have roast beef and all the trimmings, but the friend I was to share it with can’t get to me today (the streets are closed off for the Brighton Marathon) so we’ve postponed it 24 hours.

I shall just have a sandwich for lunch, then for dinner later Ive opened 4 frozen cod in parsley sauces and laid them in an ovenproof dish to thaw out then shall cover this with mashed potato then sprinkly crushed unsalted crisps on top with grated cheese  delicious!!!

When I was young the only way my mum could get me to each fish, was cod in parsley sauce. Sounds delicious

Thai Red Curry and Pasta Shells.

I often do this trick, of putting crisps on top of a dish: either a fish pie or a cottage pie, but I use cheese and onion, and also add the cheese.

Not thought of doing your recipe though, so might one day. Sounds yum.

Not sure what I’m having. Will probably have to raid the freezer.

Today its:

Roast Chicken breasts, R. Pots. Cabbage, Carrots, Gravy.

Making pea soup and making some bread rolls so will have some lovely homemade bread for lunch.

I also use a piece of kitchen roll to soak up the excess water from the thawed out cods in the ovenproof dish Jazzi…its a nice quick easy fish pie

Thanks for the tip. Will try it one day.

Man from Sainsburys brought me a nice gammon joint yesterday. Will stud it with cloves, and smother it in honey and whole grain mustard and bake it. Can then slice it and serve it with steamed potatoes and veg.

That sounds very tasty UJ! I have some pork fillet that I will slice, fry and serve with a mushroom sauce and steamed veg.

Yes Twink darlin’ it is. Whatever is left over from the joint I can then slice, and place in the pan with eggs, sausages, mushrooms, Hash browns, and black pudding for breakfast in the next few days.

My husband reckons with cheese and mushrooms it makes a lovely omelet too !

I’m cooking all in one spicy Pork and rice tonight

From fresh ingredients, or is it a packet mix. If it is from fresh I would love the recipe:-D

All fresh ingredients Twink and I’ll post the recipe soon.

Thanks:-D
