I like all the Carte D’Or range but the coffee one is definitely my favourite
Baked chicken, green salad and seasoned rice tonight… not very creative.
Broiled crab cake, fresh spinach, little new potatoes, ciabatta roll.
Roast chicken, roast potatoes, brussels sprouts, carrots and broccoli …
Stir fry with chicken, mushrooms, peppers, onions & a chow mein sauce with noodles. Luverly!
I love stir fries! They’re perfect for a single person; easy portion control, plus delicious!
Roast chicken, jacket potatoes, runner beans and brocolli. Sweet was chocolate pudding and custard. As per usual my children and grandchildren came (2 x 2 yr olds and 1 x 5 year old) and it was chaotic again, like the chimps tea party with food everywhere. The dog pinched half a chicken breast from the worktop, so I went without meat. Next Sunday I vow its only going to be sandwiches and soup. I am fed up doing Sunday lunch these days.
Pizza and tossed salad tonight.
I’ve just made a big bowl of potato salad using chives from the garden and home made mayo, so that with something or other - not sure what yet.
A this seasons main crop King Edward potato rubbed with butter salt/pepper and cooked in the oven in it’s skin is crisp and golden then split and filled with butter/grated cheese/chopped parsley,
served with :
…steamed runner beans freshly picked from my garden then tossed in butter and black pepper,
…a fragrant tomato sliced and sprinkled with a little sea salt/black pepper/fresh basil ,
All washed down with half a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc,
Followed by damsons and custard…
Pork chops, steamed new potatoes, brussels sprouts, broccoli and carrots.
My daughter is home from college today and she ‘fancied Pasta’ so I ended up cooking a big meal at lunchtime, which I soooo wish I hadn’t eaten! I am absolutely stuffed now … and won’t be eating anything for dinner tonight.
Soup chez moi, the one that is full of veggies, beans and pasta, ciabatta roll
Mmm, they all sound good!
Smoked trout fillets here, with a courgette gratin (yes, it’s that time of the allotment year) and some buttered new(ish) potatoes.
Cheeses and bics if anyone is still hungry, and we will have some of the cheap red wine a friend brings back for us. It’s gone up recently, so is coming in at about £2.30 a bottle now…Nice to hear the recent report that daily alcohol is good for the more mature lady. Enjoy it - the advice will change next week and we will be told to have nothing but spring water
I missed that report about mature ladies and alcohol …thanks!!
Chicken Korma with naan bread …
I can reply early today because it’s something which needs planning - we’re having venison and red wine casserole - the venison has been marinading for a day, so it will be extra succulent
Mmm that sounds lovely DM
I am having welsh lamb with rosemary and garlic, crispy roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables including beans from my garden …
Ive cheated big time today! I have friend coming for coffee and moment and Andy is on a 14 hr shift so I bought a pick n mix salad and some cooked sweet chilli chicken! am looking forward to it lots!
