What are you having for lunch/dinner? (Part 1)

Hmmmm decisions, decisions, decisions. Do I have: Burgers, sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms & chips fry up??? or, Faggots,??? diced pork???, Ox heart,??? Rabbit or Venison stew, ??? Chicken breast stir-fry, ???

Then there’s the thorny problem of ‘pudding’ - do I have Rhubarb crumble & custard??? or Cherry Lattice pastry & custard ???

All so difficult to choose!!!

With the recent commons vote behind us I though you might enjoy a large slice of humble pie followed by some sour grapes

Absolutely not!!! - Since Cameron regards me and every other person who opposed his views as terrorists, we will sit back and await the brick-bats emanating from ISIL and when/if they happen (as they surely will) will turn round smugly and say ‘we told you so’!!!

Im holding back … out for dinner this evening :mini:

Today its going to be Hunters Chicken and all the trimmings of a roast.

Gotta go to ‘vampire’ clinic this morning, so on my way home again I may deviate via the ‘pie shop’ and pick up a few pies for my lunch today.

I love pies Joe…especially meat and potato ones.
There are no decent pie shops around here so I have to make my own, they are just OK not as delicious as the pies I remember from my youth. What kind will you be buying ?

I have many choices - steak, chicken & ham, chicken curry, corned beef, baked beans (yes they do a baked bean pie!!!), cornish pastie. At this time of year they also do a christmas pie - roast turkey and stuffing.

They also do fruit pies too - so in addition to ‘normal’ pies, I might get a couple of cherry & custard pies. - delicious!!!

I think I may move down to Brighton Joe !

Look at this - this is my local pie shop!!!

Very nice too Joe …I prefer thinner crusts and pastry myself but the shop owners certainly have imagination

I’ll say this now - the pastry is ‘to die for’ - it may look thicker than you would like but I promise you that is to contain the ingredients inside and (waxing lyrical) the pastry is really ‘light’ that it melts in the mouth.

I always roll out my pastry until it is almost transparent Joe and fill the pie with as much of the filling as it will take…more filling less pastry that’s how I like 'em.

Well as the saying goes: “the proof of the pudding is in the eating” and most assuredly will I be eating my pies in something less than two hours from now.

And the “proof of the pig is in the eating” ! Tonight we’re having the first pork chops from this year’s batch of pigs, spicy kale and potatoes (from our garden).

mmm that sounds great GW…enjoy those!

Im having tuna pasta bake with cheese on top…

After we have been to the pub, were having a Lidl’s Chicken Masarla Curry with rice… Yummy!

Today we had Homemade Shepherd’s Pie and homemade Oven Chips with bakebeans and portabello mushrooms.

Me too

I no longer bother making pastry or even cooking ‘proper’ meals.
