…Uncle Joe you are excused working to earn your dinner, you can entertain us all instead
Ho hum - after I’ve had my after dinner siesta I’ll think about it - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I admire your attitude, Uncle Joe!
Roast Beef( sounds grand but its a packet from M&S and yorkshire puddings new pots and Cabbage and Gravy, dont do puddings.
Broiled trout, new potatoes with parsley and paprika, curried cauliflower. Blueberries in vanilla ice cream for dessert
A piece of salmon tonight for me - microwaved between two plates with a bit of chilli + Mushroom rice and green beans - only takes a minute to do, which is how I like it as I’m no cook.
Mrs Plantman experimented and made a magnificent mushroom and pepper tortilla, which we had with a few chips and a salad followed by fresh fruit cocktail from the garden…smashing…
I would never in my wildest dreams consider online shopping and having it delivered.
As long as I am fit and able I shall continue to do my shopping on the weekend as that’s what gets me out of the house. I don’t find it easy, but I manage it.
For the disabled, it’s a wonderful option, but it is more expensive from what I’m led to believe. My brother and his partner used to have groceries delivered, and they are both very able but, because of the extra cost, they packed it in and go to different stores for different bargains, as I do.
I would never buy from Asda as it’s very expensive so I tend to shop at Lidl, which is a five minute drive away for me, or Aldi, which is a 10 minute drive away.
I don’t know about other folk here, but I have to buy the cheapest I can, and the shops I’ve mentioned sell good quality food. I don’t give a monkeys about brand names as they mean nothing at all to me and, as a guide, my food shopping costs me about £20 a week, including cat food!
I’d prefer to do my own grocery shopping, but relying on public transportation (bus) and with shortness of breath from COPD, online shopping has been a Godsend for me. All the heavy stuff like bags of kitty litter and canned goods were simply too much to handle. I couldn’t cope without it.
I used to shop at Tesco but I am a bit sick the way they buy up land and build big supermarkets and cause the small shop keepers to close. England was once a country of small shop keepers.
just had some deep fried Haddock with fresh garden peas and chips followed by Strawberries and cream. Mmm delicious.
We had fish and chips too and my husband always finishes off with a chip butty and tommy K.
Late breakfast… coffee and a date square.
The water is off in my building, so looks as if I can’t make my miso soup at lunch; will still have fruit, cheese and Ensure.
We had 3 Tapas, Albondigas (Meatball in Tomato Source), Potatoes with papers and olives, and crab and prawn in sauce.
We’re having a steak deal down in the sizzling pub place just down the road. They have weekly deals and the food is very good… tonight I fancy the steak

The water came on just before noon so I did have my miso soup!
It’s been a lovely day and we have topped it off this evening with a pork curry and rice dish out on the patio.Washed down with a bottle of Hardy’s Chardonnay white wine.Cheers all.
Well now, as Rueben said, the weather has been gorgeous here in Lancashire, North West of England.
I was invited up to my brother’s house tonight. Normally I drive myself the 10 miles there, but he said he’d pick me up but it hadn’t been made clear that I was invited to stay overnight, so I didn’t take tooth brush etc so I came home in a taxi.
Anyway, he is a brilliant cook and tonight for tea I was given Indian style food, which I love.
We started off with poppodoms, home-made everything else including onion bhajis (sp), fish pakoras and for my main meal I had prawn madras with keema rice. It was absolutely fantastic and, to top the lot, we had home-brewed wine as well. Hic! I is stuffed to busting!
I’d like to borrow your brother, Mollie! Lovely meal!
