I recently posted in Photos, I think it was, that I had bought new ear cushiony parts for my Sony Headphones. In the old ones plastic cover was worn and torn.

So I bought new ear covers from Amazon, they were absurdly cheap, less than $10 for the pair.

Well, I have fitted them. As the title says - it was a struggle. The bottom of the ear pieces have a lip which slots in a corresponding groove on the headphones themselves. It is hard to illustrate so I have pushed my fingers under the lip in this photo.
Notice the gauze like stuff across the inner part of the cushion. It stops you assisting yourself from the other side.
Anyway it was like fitting a bicycle tyre you had to hold the first part in place as you forced the lip into the groove otherwise it just came out and followed you round, at the same time the earpiece had to be rotated to do the job. The head piece bracket also got in the way as you went round because it only allows very limited movement.
I did it BUT you have no idea how many times those headphones nearly got to test their aerodynamics as they sailed across the room. If they need changing again I think I will just buy a new pair, these are over a decade old anyway so they have done well.
