I can’t get links to work. Basically, weather caused the roof of an Amazon Warehouse to collapse killing 2 people. EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.

Death toll going up

How often does it happen? I don’t remember hearing about it being so bad before.

At least once every year or 2. Unfortunately, 1,200 tornadoes

How many tornadoes occur in the U.S. each year? About 1,200 tornadoes hit the U.S. yearly.

Blimey.

I saw a number of articles/pictures over the weekend, and was shocked at the damage.
Then today I saw this drone footage, and I’m speechless.
I’m amazed that people actually survived.

My thoughts go out to all the victims and their families.

Terrible images…poor people having to go through that…amazing all the devastation then just yards from it houses stand in tact with no damage at all.

I’m amazed in these storm areas that they allow timber framed houses? Surely lives would be saved in stronger built houses?

Yes I’ve thought that brick built stronger houses would withstand thse awful storms. How frightening . Poor people .

I’ve just watched the video . It’s awful to think people suffer this . Oh dear

That video was horrific. And yes, I so agree about timber framed houses - they just don’t stand a chance. How do the people who survived this go on from here? I just can’t begin to imagine. How do you “watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools”?

My heart goes out to them all, but especially to the children - what will their Christmas be like now?

Its terrible, and I feel so sad for those Amazon workers who were told to go ahead into work, despite the weather warnings!

If that was recorded somewhere, then the families of those lost could take the company’s insurers to the cleaners.

There’s enough articles for me to believe it. This many sources wouldn’t report it if there wasn’t some glimmer of truth there!
