I think being a border collie is easier work though.
Good money. Though it takes a long time to become a gun shearer.
Very hard work as well.
That is why not many young people want to become shearers.
The current shearers are getting older, their bodies are starting to give out.
Replacements are needed or the Auto Shearer needs to be perfected.
Maybe genetics can be applied.
Breed sheep that drop their fleece once a year.

and it is very seasonal - so the best shearers will earn that per week in shearing season, not all year round
