This thread seems to have been neglected recently. Videos please
oops didn’t work deleted
weird or what. caught on camcorder. For those who have seen this before let those who havn’t seen it be mystified.
These are the ruins of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, over in Wick it was once the stronghold of The Sinclair Clan. I hoof along there with Dageus (now passed) once a month when I go to the huge Tesco in Wick for a stock up of what I can’t get in Thurso’s wee shops.
was it a mouse under the cup?
check your PM
my lips are sealed
I have not used my panasonic HC-X1500 camcorder for some time. getting used to setting it up is so different from a video from a camera, Still here goes
Having the microphone mounted on the top of the handle at least eliminates any camera noise
oops balls that up wrong scene file
so what is the difference? stop videos at the start then look at the bush on the right. second attempt shows it better
in the first video you can hear beautiful birdsong, but the second has either air/road traffic or lawnmower noise.
Lovely flowers.
They certainly make them long there.
Are they spools of wire Bruce?
No, rolls of steel plate.
slow zoom solution is by using one of these plugged into the remote port.
the amount of control far out weighs anything on a camcorder. Also having it clamped onto a video arm means being able to not only slow zoom but follow a subject when in tracking mode.
Do you set all this up each time you are out and about?
All I do is slide the camcorder onto the tripod head and plug in the remote and the dongle. The remote switching and dongle I leave for on the arm
one set ont tabletop tripod, the other on the Manfrotto befree tripod
cable from rocker switch to remote port on camcorder
Dongle to audio out port back of camcorder.
So sound from microphone through handle connection to audio" in " port through to other “out” port to dongle .Then wireless to headphones. There is amillisecond or so to sound lag, but not being tethered to the camcorder is far better option.
switch on camcorder -switch on dongle - switch on Microphone ( mine does it automatically) check for sound in headphones.
Now being able to operate the camcorder like this makes things so much easier
watch for red dots on screen for start/stop indicator
this makes panning and zoom at the same time really easy and just using one hand
