Sorry to have to tell you this … in the UK, Trump is a slang word for breaking wind, or farting. Which is why many Brits smirk a little when he’s mentioned.

The phrase also surprised me. But for me the it was the notion that decadence in a neighbouring country would somehow be a threat. Imagine the chat in the Kremlin “Vladimar, we are observing excessive spending on parties and lavish house furnishings in Kharkov. This decadence must be stopped before, err, before, em, our own oligarchs get any new ideas on how to waste their billions. What, no Vladimar, not at all, I did not mean that your opulent palace on the Black Sea was in any way decadent. Tasteful, it is very tasteful and 190,000 square foot inside is simply reasonable.”

No, we speak English and , believe it or not, have the technology and the know how to look up definitions. And every english speaking country has slang words meaning different things.
This made me chuckle
