Up The Garden Path

Gotcha. Naturally some of the topsoil won’t be tamped down as much as others areas and hollows will ensue. Can’t recommend getting a lute enough for future levelling of these minor hollows. But no rush and it’ll probably be a year before these become noticeable. It was for me, and I had double dug my topsoil due to excessive compaction in sandy soil.

Just been to Coventry to pick up the gravel boards and posts, now to get the panels, I have purposely left the lawn as it is so as not to disturb years of settlement, there is just a fall off to the left of the garden which is where the lions share of the topsoil will go.

Dex, our soil is 110% Clay, first two panels in, get the drift.

All looking good. Handy that it’s all on a bit of a slope since this will help drainage.

Out of interest, where about in Warwickshire are you? Went to Warwick Uni back in the early 1980s, so my knowledge is naturally not entirely in-depth.

North Warks Dex, just over the Brummagem border, can nip in and out to the conurbation whilst enjoying lower house and car insurance premiums:-).
Could only fit one sawn panel in the car, hence only two panels completed, taking the circular saw tomorrow, cutting the first panel manually took quite a bit of elbow grease.

Hi Fence Fans, this part of the journey is done, and I hope no one has taken offence at this thread:lol:

This is the slightly modified neighbours wooden fence post, 3" off the top and a couple of millimetres just above the blocks, gave it a coat of preservative just for the say so.

This is the rear of the shortened panel cut outs strengthend and a top baton added.

Next, time to shed some light on the shed, you were not joking Dex, about the self tappers,

Great job with the fence Spitty. You should be proud indeed.

Short (1/2"?) self tappers eh? It’s a times like this that one wishes one could justify the expense of buying an autofeed screwdriver.

Great fencing Spitty, looks very posh! :023:

Looks a top job

First class job Spitty. looks terrific, but then Mr. Spitling makes excellent fences.;-)

I’ve been driving the missus mad singing this all day since I looked at your pictures.

Thanks All, there may be some Philosophical term for covering an ugly fence with a pretty one, either way, it keeps the Dog in.

Boundaries, a necessary evil.

Been a bit preoccupied this morning, been on this for two and a half hours now.

Good start. At least you’ve broken the back of the roof now.

Went to a friend’s house at the weekend (new build), and he’d put some kind of rubberised flooring tile down in his double garage for the bit which he uses as a gym. Just a thought.

Dex, we have some (well lots) of model aircraft, which, if you ain’t careful are easily damaged. They cluttered the workshop, hence leaving no space for actual work, the actual purpose of the new shed, is a garage for Aeroplanes (and other stuff).

This is getting irksome, the fixing holes on the plate right at full stretch at the middle of the ridge don’t line up at all so, I am going to have to re-pilot with a drill.

Re-drilled it, think it would have been quicker to have drilled the lot myself.

All done now including finials, now onto the base.

The Hangar is done.

There is now just a small purpose shed to build, behind where the cement mixer is, just for the mower and bicycles.
