Three Quarters done, looks like rain, I’ll finish it tomorrow.

Might get on with painting those back panels.

Why not use 75mm posts and some footplates? Easy enough to connect the panel to these with, er, panel clips. Probably cheaper too!!

Edit - looking at the timber posts already there, looks like they could be shortened and re-used (upside down), thus saving the planet a bit as well;-)

One reason for doing this Dex is that that is next doors fence, our garden is higher than theirs. The reason they did not change these panels when they did the rest of the fence I think was that these panels are pretty inaccessible from their side and because of the foliage and trees, and, they are not visible to them either, it would cause great disturbance to meddle with them.

This 100mmX100MMx2400mm weighs nearly as much as a Concrete Post, cutting into two required a sharp saw.

The Women behind me in the Click and Collect queue, after standing there for 5 mins said to me, are you waiting for Click and Collect, if so can I queue jump as I want to go in store, I told her it was Click and Collect only as the store was being refurbed, she got narked and buggered off, then a bloke in a car pulled up next to me at the front of the queue, I had to back off to keep separation, an argument then started with him and the you lad on duty, because the geezer wanted a bag of something or other, fair play to the lad, he told the geezer if he wanted to go instore, to come back in six weeks.

Coat of matching wood stain, plate are coming from Ebay Thursday, saved a fiver on Wickes price.

It’s all edging forward bit at a time. When does the metal shed arrive?

The 28 day lead time is up today, normally I would have started chasing by now, it was supposed to be with the courier last Thursday (from Ireland) so, I’ll finish the base tomorrow, then start on them.

7/8s of the way there, looks like rain so holding fire for an hour or two.

Always good to see a nice and tidy site. As my old boss used to say about keeping things clean - “we’re not paying anyone else to do it”

Maisie left her mark.

Good job. Must be relieved that that bit’s finally over.

Yep Dex, just did it before the drizzle started, now covered with plastic and old delivery pallets. The Meta Plates are coming today, and tomorrow, I have to take a slab sample to a Builders Merchant some miles away (to have the best chance of matching them) to buy another 50 or so slabs, I bought this batch off Ebay 3 or 4 years ago and can’t remember who the seller was.
Still ain’t got the Shed, it is supposed to have been shipped to the courier a week ago today, for some reason, the seller and the manufacturer seem to think their responsibility ended when it was shipped to the courier.

Forgot. What are the slabs for? As a “nice” floor for the Shed?

The row of three slabs in front of the existing shed are to be extended across the garden for access to the new shed.

Then one row in front of the office to where a water butt will be.

I hope you’ve signed your work too Spitty…

Gotcha;-)

Slabs look like pretty common buff or grey ones available from B&Q (450mm square)

The problem when I asked the local Garden/Builders Merchant I showed a slab sample to seems to be they are Wet Cast so, although they are a standard 450 X 450mm, the mix involved and the fade rate may be difficult to match, I have a broken piece in the for matching purposes.

It is hard work but there ain’t no Spit in there.

Ah. OK. As you said above the existing slabs are at least 3 years old anyway.

Can be irksome to find ones even close to the original batch colour at times. Last year I build a lean-to verandah fo someone who got their original slabs from B&Q a couple of years earlier. So they went there last year to get a few extra for the bits that I needed, and although they were identical pattern with the same nominal colour, they looked completely different even after karchering down the originals.

Good luck with your search. If you can’t get anything close enough, suppose you could consider deliberately having a contrast.

Yep, in full agreement, nowt worse than being a shade out, push comes to shove, I could Block Pave the run and make it obviously different. Been to Screwfix and got the Plat fixing bolts so you can guess the agenda for tomorrow.
