Looks like I am laying turf, bear in mind, I have done all the levelling and preparation, a person only has to place it, delivered the turf is £4.50 per metre = 53 mtrs @ £4.50 = £238.50 supply only, for a geezer to supply and lay is £850.00, that equates to £611.50 labour (plus the profit on the turf).
Sod that for a game of conkers.
Dont see turfs here…I have just done a search and realise why now…wrong weather…

Looking very even…
Spent a lot of time leveling etc, there is a good chance the property will be up for sale soon so, immediate impact is all that matters, no need to test the quality or feel the width.
I’m staggered by the cost of things … that’s really crazy I agree lay it yourself!
Spitty, don;t forget to keep the fresh turf wet after you’ve laid it. I bought myself a soaker hose for around less than £10 like this. Worked pretty well and only needed it to last the first season. Given my water pressure, it was more useful that a lawn sprinkler.
Dex, do these soakers connect to your existing hose as it is 18 metres from the tap to the lawn and the lawn itself is 11 metres long.
Yep. One end has a standard (male) hose connector attached, and the other is sealed. You’ll prbably have to move it around after a bit to get full coverage, but the water spread is longitudinal rather than circular which usual rotary sprayers provide.
Just thought…we had years of Patching a Flat Felt/Tar type
Roof…10 years
Previous owners had a weird conservatory added onto the end of the Lounge. The Door was a death drop when opened as the property was on a steep slope.
Look out the side window and it was like being on the 1st floor…hey it was a bungalow:-)…
So that is where the Flat Roof came to be…for us though, 10 years of messing with DIY repairs.
When we put the property on the Market we had neighbours having there flat roof repairs done by this wiz of an expert…He done it…great job…then we moved to France…
Going to have at least two seasons out of this work;-) done enough today shifted 1.3 of the 1.5 tonnes of topsoil, will finish off with a very fine top coat.
Next doors bamboo stuff is a pain in the arse.

Turf and matching Grass seed coming Tuesday.
That’s a total of six tonnes of topsoil, the clay should be well buried.
arrhh Clay…memories, scars…
ours in places you could and I did make clay pots…just as a wonder.
You could only dig the ground in the Wet Chilly Months of the Year…
Should have shouted I am the digger of all diggers.
Very hard work though and whilst Bamboo is mentioned…We have a small Black Bamboo from the UK…We have next doors Bamboo which now looks like ours as much as there’s…
Uses…H. makes Trellis and we use it for plant supports also…
Still a pain though…so are the Holli guns who live there…
When the guy tipped the soil yesterday, some went on next doors gravel drive, not sure they were too pleased.
Get your kitchen knife ready to cut those sods.
hey its good to share…next doors wilderness they share with us…
ok it all goes back over…only right thing to do, with some folk
I have to go…dont be upset though…
Blimey, it’s really bizarre listening to Dianne and Spitty chatting
together !!
Donkeyman!
Bizarre…HARPING R WEE…By MYB…
Hard landscaping is a catalyst that transcends all other methods of arriving at consensus.
Wot dat mean?
you need a digger? or some sense?
