Simple matter of fetching up the main lawn, topsoil in, and roller to the height of the surrounding paths.
Roll it flat, add more soil, then next week is Turf Time.

Working very smart and very hard. Looking really good well done.
Thanks Kazz, I will do a bit on the Garden tomorrow, but, there is stuff to do on the Summer Car and the Motorbike, so, the day of rest may be varied.
It’s looking really good and so professional…love this thread
All looking lovely. Teensy little point though…the dpc of that wall is supposed to be a minimum of 150mm above the level of those slabs and the existing block paviours.
If you’re looking to sell up soonish (or indeed at any other point), a surveyor will probably notice it if they’re competent, and it might prove a problem. Just saying.
The solution (if you want to bother with it) could include building a French drain.
Thanks Summer and Dex, yep Dex, I am aware, but, in essence, it is still a detached garden building and any marketing would reflect that status. I did find this on tinternet of which I was unaware.
If you want to put up small detached buildings such as a garden shed or summerhouse in your garden, building regulations will not normally apply if the floor area of the building is less than 15 square metres and contains NO sleeping accommodation.
If the floor area of the building is between 15 square metres and 30 square metres, you will not normally be required to apply for building regulations approval providing that the building contains NO sleeping accommodation and is either at least one metre from any boundary or it is constructed substantially of non-combustible materials.
Just added another quarter tonne of soil and rolled it, it is now firm under foot. may leave it a that and consider a layer of pre lawn fertilizer.

I have no intention of sleeping in the office, but, after all this work I might accidentally drop off.
Doing these big projects, it is easy to forget the basic jobs. I removed over a kilo of crud from the drain.

The little things are often noticed the least but matter the most.
Yes, devil in the detail, ready for another escapade.
Can’t wait to see it turfed…nearly there
Yes Summer, its a balancing act, need the rain an rolling to establish a firm base, but, don’t want to wait so long that weeds etc become a problem.
Turf can be collected after 10.00am Wednesday, done the last slabs this end.

Time for turf tomorrow, end of an era, nearly.
