UKs state of the art aircraft carrier breaks down!

Hi

A lot was made of the pair of them projecting power in the Middle East and South China Sea

Aircraft carriers do not operate on their own, they need protection and our newer destroyers apparently have engine trouble in warmer seas.

I am not sure that aircraft carriers are like London buses that only arrive and travel threes.

Oh? perhaps they areā€¦

Hi

The problem is that they donā€™t arrive.

buses are a rare sighting in my area and never in a group of three.

Hi

According to a Navy Forum it was a serious issue. They forgot to grease one of the propshafts

I would have expected the prop shafts in such an advance vessel to be auto lubricated.

Hi

Perhaps they did as well

@swimfeeders How many propshafts does it have then ??
Do they all stop when one stops ??
I believe it developed a prop shaft leak on trials and it had to be removed
to repack it ?? Maybe the repair team forgot summat ??
Using contract labour l expect to save money ?? :frowning::frowning::frowning:
