As someone trying to offer a spare bedroom and house share with a mum + 1 or 2 young children, this news has cheered me up.
If Richard (Lord) Harrington can achieve this, why have the others involved been dragging their feet🤷♂️

I think it’s only right that security checks are in place. Things have to be done properly. We don’t want kids being placed with paedos or weirdos and we don’t want people coming here who have criminal records.
Last week there was a story in our local paper of a convicted paedo who went out to the Ukraine to rescue kids from a childrens home while posing as a medic.
There was a story of a “doctor” who wanted to “rescue” a young Ukrainian woman, promising her everything under the sun, then reneged on his offer when he found out she was escaping with her mother. Disgusting beyond words

I have been expecting such behaviour, but not from a doctor. There will always be such men with something else in mind🤬
