UK/US Dinner - The Forum Would do it Better

The chicken dish sounded delicious

Thank you .

One of my sisters lives in Italy , a Citizen there married to a retired Italian police and not one pet store in her area so Italy was out of the question for a fish hobbyist like myself

Rupert Murdoch and Trump in same room must have been awkward

Rupert is now think 94 and still very much on the ball during his interview and this is a man who broke his back think when in his mid or late 80s .

I heard the full menu read out on the News and I thought YUCK. Good job I wasn’t there or I’d have had to bring a sneaky sandwich under the table.

Seriously ?

  • Hampshire watercress panna cotta with Parmesan shortbread and quail egg salad
  • Organic Norfolk chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes with a thyme and savoury infused jus
  • Vanilla ice cream bombe with Kentish raspberry sorbet interior with lightly poached Victoria plums

The desert would have been ok I guess, but the rest… No Thanks.

I wonder if anyone wore the party hats that were on the plates?

I don’t know about this dinner but reminds me of being invited to the opening of the Thai religious headquarters for the whole of Europe . This was held in Wimbledon and got invited as we knew the daughter of the Thai ambassador in England. Oh yes we mixed in dead posh society. :017: :+1:
So Sue and I sat down for this meal, not knowing the first offering was small. So we made the best of it. 16 courses later we were struggling to be polite to eat it.
We even had embassy staff cooking and serving us.

Even Trump this time didn’t make a grab for King Charles’s medals like he did with the world cup. That must have really annoyed him as he didn’t have any

I love Thai food that sounds great and no problem here with 16 course meal , lol

UK is a tough crowd .

Btw , Have you also been there ?

I ask as the nature I heard incredible but I myself have never been there .

I’m a Scot, and a Highlander. I don’t think of Scotland as the UK :smirk: Scotland is a totally different place and culture.
I was at a grand dinner once with a friend in Edinburgh, and I had no idea what they placed in front of me, some strange thing wrapped in lettuce and only a couple of mouthful, but it tasted gross then another course similar then desert. It tasted foul and we were so hungry we called into the chip shop on the way back to get some real food in our grumbling tummies.
Posh Nosh, no thank you. :joy:

That’s the greatest number of courses I’ve ever head of. If the food was Thai, I’m sure it was outstanding. Great experience!

An advantage of having a Thai daughter-in-law. Good Thai food from time to time.

Hi, I’d recommend not knocking posh nosh. However, I’d always recommend knocking pish nosh.
But maybe its because I grew up about 100 metres south of the highland fault.

Oscar was referring to Fox Hunting but it’s quite apt here too,I think.

If I went to Thailand it wouldn’t be for the food…
Although it is my favourite foreign food…

I truly hope you mean that you’d go for the scenery, beaches and ancient temples. Please, please don’t mean anything else.
