UK/US Dinner - The Forum Would do it Better

Well OK …except on Friday nights when the curtains are drawn.

In this day and age, you’d think they’d be able to have personalised individual tables and chairs on electronic wheel bases, which could be programmed so that everyone can meet everyone else for 5 mins - kinda like speed dating but without having to stand up and take your food and drinks with you, as they travel as you do.

Am sure Bezos could sort it out, given his company’s skill sets with robots. :grimacing::grimacing:

My friend and I had our own banquet today. A pint of beer and a bag of cheese and onion crisps at the local pub. Dress of the day being tracksuit bottoms and a casual top. Trainers on the feet.

And cheaper! What a monumental waste of tax-payers money went on it while people in the UK are struggling to heat their homes and feed themselves properly.

I wonder if we’ll ever see a revolution (be funny if our members started one :081:)

I think we are a lot more likely to offer each other a sandwich and a glass of lemonade…though a few might prefer that some of us dine on the front step :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

The menu though missing one food dish I would have liked to see still looked yummy .

I would certainly tuck into each course (assuming I wasn’t paying).
I also liked the drinks list. some classics there - Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2018, strewth.
And Pol Roger, Extra Cuvee de Reserve, 1998, although champagne often gives me a headache. And best the after dinner drinks: Warre’s 1945 Vintage Port, or Hennessy 1912 Cognac Grande Champagne, or Bowmore Queen’s Cask 1980, Islay. I wrote “or” but I should have written “and”. That would have better described my after dinner drinking.

There doesn’t seem to be anything for the vegetarians or vegans there, do you think they rustle up something different for them or do they just go without and have the bread and wine?

EXACTLY like the USA .

I would think they would rustle something up for you if you are a Dignitary but a Commoner like myself I doubt it but then again no Commoners invited .

Trump looks like the kind of bloke who would just love some fish and chips with a good helping of mushy peas…

Malania and Ed are already on a hate trip. That side of the table was smoken’ with anger.

I suppose they haul the Helicopter in another aircraft.
The Donald said he wishes not to have to attend another!

Wonder if Arthur was walking those hallways PST !

Yes, indeed those bottles were a sommalier’s dream, L. At our little barbecue the bubbles might not be as sophisticated.
