Trip to U K

Our trip to see relatives started off with first of all with a drive to catch the Bus to begen at 13. 15, 5 hour trip costing £50 for wo of us . First bit was ok to Forde where we had to change to another Bus, that was when peace was shattered, imaging sitting across the aisle from a 3 year old that had a screaming paddy for TWO HOURS solid, my god a good slap acros the legs wouldnt have gone amiss. It eventually went to sleep after the ferry crossing of sognefjord, I think mother fed it enough stuff to put it to sleep.
Arrival in Bergen at 18.20 then a drag of 4 cases across to the railway station to find a locker to store them in whilst having a meal. Good meal just steak and veg etc plus a coffee and glass of wine, not bad 900kr or about £90:!::!::!:.
After that bus to airport to stay overnight in Airport Hotel,
B&B for two £160, well its only money. Flight at 9 15 next morning. As usual secuirity as normal I set the alarm off, one of the disadvantages of a Hip Op.
Flight on time, needed a buggy for wife as its such a long drag from plane to baggage collection and she is jiust out of Hospital 3 days .
Now the train from gatwick to St pancras, two suitcases and two cabin bags, mostly full of stuff for family,. half way down the esclator to the platform I went flying, panic because I couldnt get up as the thing was still going, ruined my jacket and pinched finger, it could have been much worse. Now the walk from st pancs to Euston, about 20 mins . OMG traffic , I saw more cars in that 20 mins than in a whole year at home. Train was broken down , so they had to find another one , then of course so many people, luckily I had booked first class way back and had paid with vouchers- Man had sat in our reserved seats , was most peeved to have to move. Off we went with free coffee etc . Last Laugh to us on the guy that had sat in our seats , he had only paid for a 2nd class ticket , so had to cough up for an upgrade, typical of the man in the suit and Briefcase trying to get something for nothing .

Ok that will do for now more later or shouød this be moved to somewhere else .

Slap a 2 year old for crying. That’s what you’d do?
I’ve just lost interest in your journey.

Welcome to the UK Norway, whilst in the Uk expect any kind of public transport to stay as bad as you’ve experienced it today or get a whole lot worse and if travelling by car expect to go vvveeerrrryyy slowly!

I can imagine your shock at seeing so many cars, all crawling along the Euston Road. We have a fine country (not!).

You could always leave Baxter, Russia is nice at this time of year, or maybe somewhere warmer like Venezuela, the socialist paradise, trouble is you won’t get your benefits paid there.

But then I’d miss your sizzling and dazzling input on this forum rehab.

Looking forward to your next installment Norway … tell us about our Country, likes and dislikes

Welcome to the UK, Norway … what a bad start for you, I hope things improve and you enjoy your visit.

A hard choice then Baxter, stay in this country, decry it, yet claim benefits, or move to one of those countries you hold in such high esteem and become one of the workers.
I always find it strange that people like you can hate this country so much but you still accept the state handouts. Bad back is it, or maybe stress?
Are you related in anyway to Anjem Choudary?

State handouts? Benefits? One of those countries i hold in high esteem? What are you talking about?

You’ve completely lost me - not sure what any of that has to do with the UK’s transport system.

 just spreading a little groundbait and waiting for a bite …thanks

Clearly easily pleased so …
You’re most welcome

i lost interst in u and your type years ago, just how do you think the driver felt with that screaming down his neck for 2 hours solid. It would have been great had he lost concentration and gone off the road, its a long way down to the bottom.
Unless you have anything polite to say go away.you must live a very sad life

It was meant to be quite humours , but with comments like that I dont intend to bother with the rest of the trip . It seems that there are more than afew on this site that need a good slap . sorry i bothered

Not the most intelligent reply.
This is an open forum therefore your comments are open to praise or criticism, we cannot choose which.

Stop being a drama queen, the driver is a professional and is expected to ignore any distractions.

If you don’t like children or crying babies(granted it can be annoying)then don’t travel on PUBLIC transport.
The choice is yours.

It seems a slap is your answer to most annoyances…especially those that wouldn’t/couldn’t slap back.
Not this one.:-p

Your points are noted and you have my complete sympathy:-(

On reflection I may have been a little harsh.
Therefore I apologise for interfering and over reacting to a throw away comment.

Sorry Norway.

screaming babies or toddlers should not be tolerated on public transport, however slapping is not the best option - mouth gags; tranquilizers or simple hanging out of the window for a few minutes should do the trick. We tolerate too much unacceptable behavior from kids these days IMO:-D

my sympathies are with you Norway may your hols go well - you could always try Australia next they are very friendly and we serve oysters and large prawns regularly. and for a little riskier delicacy we can serve you grilled croc and battered shark [well battered] not to mention a whole range of Indigenous treats!

They do seem such long journies from Scandinavian countries. Today my friend´s daughter set off from her home in Finland to come to Spain. Pia left home at 6 a.m. and arrived here less than hour ago. A long train journey from her home to the airport, over 4 hour wait at the airport for her flight to Gatwick, another long wait at Gatwick, the a 30 minute delay leaving Gatwick, arrival at our house less than 1 hour ago. Poor girl is shattered. You have my sympathies Norway, but I hope you enjoy your holiday.

its a hell of a long way to come for battered shark, and must need a large tub of batter

apology accepted
