Pet clark will be 90 on Tuesday , so heres some of my favourites she sang .
I liked her as well, Eliza.
This film was my favourite & it had Tommy Steele in it too, as well as Fred Astaire.
I love that song to bits, reminds me of Piccadilly Circus and the west end when I was a kid.
Nice to bring memories back with a song Chilli,
Tiff I will try and find that Film , theres a few songs in there that i liked .
my favourite from the film
When l was at school, a friend bought me a record token for my birthday and l bought ‘Sailor’ by Petula Clark.
It was the first record l ever bought.
My favourite song by Petula is, Downtown.
The film is very non PC now, but if you aren’t easily offended by tobacco growing & a bit of racist thinking, not from the main characters & it is amusingly done, then you’ll enjoy it.
I think it has a good story, though some would be offended by it.
Back, in the days when lyrics actually meant something!
Ah yes - I loved ‘Sailor’
I was going out with one at the time…
Oooh Carol, all the nice girls love a sailor!!
I bet you remember all the words to ‘Sailor’? I do, cos l listened to it so much as a kid!!
PS. Carol, I hope you’re feeling better and on the road to a good recovery.
Easy listening at it’s very best.
My older sister had a dress like that and I was so envious, too young Mum said to wear it.
but in todays musical scenes she wouldn’t cut mustard heh??
Yes I can remember all the words even after all these years.
I was really fond of my sailor but he had to keep going to sea. Then one time he came back after six weeks at sea & I’d met Tony - so goodbye sailor.
Thanks Art - yes I think I’m getting better now.
Can’t believe she’s 89.
She’s got a new boyfriend too…
