That’s fascinating, isn’t it? I wonder what her missing middle is supposed to represent?
If it’s holiday apartments you can get the suitcase on wheels thing
Her face doesn’t look too happy and the way she’s facing looks as if she’s leaving, not arriving?
Maybe she’s leaving part of herself on holiday?
Thought provoking, anyway, I do like an intriguing bit of art
It’s not far from Bristol Airport so perhaps it’s supposed to represent business travellers. I was lucky when I took the photo that: -
1 I had my camera,
2 My son was driving
3 The road was unusually quiet and we were able to stop for half a minute.
Beautiful picture but feels eerie to me. Disembodied female. Haunting.
Quite, intriguing but a little disconcerting.
it gives me the impression something sinister happened in that house .
I can see the business woman connection, if it’s near the airport
But the missing bit is very strange
Spooky. It would be no good outside a B&B
It reminds me of a ghostly traveller, stepping out from the house through the wall, eager to step forward on her journey - (as it’s close to the Airport, maybe it’s social comment about the appalling standard and price of aircraft meals - if you had to rely on airline food, it would leave your tummy feeling empty - you couldn’t keep body and soul together with modern airline food!) - or maybe it’s Mandy, rising from the dead, from the old 10cc song from the 1970s -
I’m Mandy, Fly Me …
That song never fails to send a shiver down my spine.
Weird statue, sorry!
I thought it’d be a different take on “Travelling Light”. I did one major travel experience in the 80s. I brought the basics with me and purchased the rest at my destination. I had an extra bag folded away.
Cheers!
I saw these similar “statues” whilst holiday in Teignmouth a few years ago…!
Very strange indeed but they were attracting the attention of crowds!
