My highlight of their career, has to be the ‘Bolero’ when we sat watching our televisions willing them on to win the gold medal in the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984… and they did!
It was unforgettable.

I used to love watching them … it was a real treat to see them glide over the ice as they were so expressive in their interpretation of the music.

I used to love watching Torvill and Dean too - all that hard work and practice behind the scenes made their performances look so effortlessly brilliant.

Some great videos here - what has impressed me most was the video @Muddy posted of their recent performance - to still be able to skate like that and make it look effortless 40 years later, when they are in their mid 60s is fantastic.

Their timing was so impeccable and the routines always fresh, exciting and very different. They took chances that could have ended in disaster and made them look as simple as a walk in the park. No-one has ever equalled them.
