I don’t usually try these “speed up your computer” claims because they usually involve a dodgy app or buying something but I tried this on my now ageing desktop PC and it certainly made a difference.
It is very simple to do, the instructions are easy takes about a minute.
Hmmm, These type of videos worry me a bit. I don’t want to mess up my computer so will wait untill my daughter comes up for a visit.
I like the idea of this but I’ve learned the hard way in the past, so I’ve booked marked the video for future use if she says it’s ok, not doubting you just being careful. 
Applying those changes does make a difference to how things operate. For example when you move a window, instead of the window following the cursor, it becomes an outline which moves, the original window staying where it was but as soon as you release the window it snaps to the new position.
Any differences are purely in the animation of the operating system and don’t affect your usage. Videos run exactly as before for example. It is purely cosmetic.
