Think about Earth as an Exoplanet?

Earth being in the “Habitable Zone” is the thing we are looking for.
Not too close. not too far from our Star.
So it stands to reason, those living elsewhere in the Universe may very well be studying this Blue Planet.
We may see a probe or ten come our way to Analyse us.
Be prepared Earthlings, “They” are coming.

" No one would have believed, in the early years of the 21st century, that our world was being watched by intelligences greater than our own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns, they observed and studied, the way a man with a microscope might scrutinize the creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. With infinite complacency, men went to and fro about the globe, confident of our empire over this world. Yet, across the gulf of space, intellects vast and cruel and unsympathetic regarded our planet with envious eyes…and slowly, and surely, drew their plans against us."

Someone has already thought of it. :grinning:

Unlikely. We have only been broadcasting radio signals for about 100 years and there are only about 60,000 stars within 100 light years of us who stand any chance of picking up those signals and the chance of those stars having a planet with intelligent life on it are remote. But even if there was it would take them many thousand years to get here even if they left yesterday.

No one knows we are here

"Space,is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to space.

We might not be the only ones because there are billions of suns out there with suitable planets that could support life…Not necessarily as we know though. And time is infinite, so other life could be at different stages of evolution, some might not have formed yet and others could have become extinct. But whatever the stage of development, if they are like us it’s because their planets are composed of the same basic ingredients, and it probably is impossible to build anything that that can bridge the enormous distances involved. We can’t even get a person to the moon without a great deal of risk and luck.

Our solar system could just be a single atom that makes up a much larger object or being. :face_with_spiral_eyes:
