Being the anal retentive unpleasant person I am I always have exactly 18 items in the express which here is 20 items or less , granted things like a bag of apples counts as one item .
If person immediately behind me has a handful of items I tell them to go ahead and they act like they have seen a ghost as that is completely unheard of here .
BOTH women were in the wrong and the woman who started it all is what in a HOA is called a " Karen " though the " Karen" in my community is a punk azz man who is a weasel coward .
HOWEVER regardless of what she said the other woman had no right to grab her .
When I go to the VA after doing what I have to do I hit the " lounge " where lots playing cards I introduce myself as the White Devil or White Trash and one guy I " know " often says something like welcome and join us ( racist term for Blacks ) .
We all laugh though the young PC uppity lady manager has asked us to be bit more civil but we ignore her as we should .
I have used a few times the racist term for Hispanics but you are correct as far as unbecoming and stupid .
There is a substantial portion of the population in Miami ADDICTED to that phone and a cashier , etc is waiting as the person is texting and young people they are often not .
And itâs quite telling that such a reminder for human decency is needed.
Another example: Those speed bumps in parking lots & residential streets.
They know the risk of injuring or killing a pedestrian wonât slow people down, but the risk of damaging their car certainly will.
SheilaP, well said, if you are on here legitimately, confusion is just round the corner, so, you will know what to expect, lots of potential âOldiesâ try to disassociate themselves
My personal âCovid Crazyâ incident involved my nephew who is 37:
Before Thanksgiving a few years ago, my sister & I were setting the table & decorating the dining room. We always invite my sisterâs family - her son, his wife, their two kids, their dog.
The day after we set the table, my sister & I both got colds. Not Covid; just colds. When my nephew found out, he called me & said I gave her my cold.
I said, âHow do you know she didnât give me her cold?â
He said, âYou are careless; you donât get vaccinated & you donât always wear a mask.â
I said, âI always wear a mask in public; you know I wouldnât be let into a store without one.â
He said, âWell you donât get Covid vaccines; thatâs why youâre sick & you made my mom sick.â
I said, âYour mom & I donât have Covid; we have colds. Are you really so stupid that you donât know the difference?â
Until then, I considered my nephew & I close. His mom & dad divorced when he was 8 years old & I took over, driving him to school & picking him up every day so his mom could continue working. And when his father was too cheap to get him a decent car, I gave him (not loaned him) $6,000.00 towards a new car so he could get to art school; heâs very talented. He was hired by Warner Bros right out of high school. Heâs a very successful commercial artist for the movie industry & a professor.
We havenât spoken for four years, which is OK with me. His mom said, âHe knows he was out of line.â I said, "When someone knows they were out of line, they apologize; he lacks the decency to do that. All he had to do was say, âI was scared & not thinking clearly.â I donât need an ungrateful nasty person in my life.
I donât know what bothers me most - the fact that we live in a time in which Christmas shopping and violence are unimaginably together in a headline, or that government has taken on the role of parenting
Miami is the rudest city in the US, survey saysââ
Well, this news isnât exactly shocking, is it?
The City of Miami, iconic for countless reasons, apparently attracts tourists around the worldwide despite its prickly reputation.
A new survey from language-learning site Preply ranked dozens of U.S. cities from most to least rude. Miami was in the top twoâand it wasnât number two.
And apparently, Miamians know it, since surveyed residents (along with those in Oakland, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz.) said people in their city are ruder than those in any other.
I am the King of arguments and when young before cell phones that people recorded anything rock em sock em fist fights but I never held grudges I moved on .
In your case you felt hurt and yes that is not easy to move on from , in my case it with strangers but sometimes to keep peace in the family you let it go .
We had speed bumps in area I live but HOA was sued and they were removed as sports cars like corvettes and low rider kit cars were damaged . This happened before I moved here . The speed limit is 15 MPH and suspect I am the ONLY one who abides by it and due to countless cats .
I ask as know some who did not get vaccinated and though I am VERY leery of anything new I did get all three vaccines , think 3rd considered a booster .
However that was it as no more after that and seems now every year new COVID vaccines are out .
I have no idea if ever had COVID , did vaccines protect me or not but I was concerned when this first came out .
