All well known to me…get a nice bacon roll in the market.
Thanks Furry. That took me back.I see Spillers (the oldest record shop in the world) is in the Morgan Arcade now.
Better than all these modern identikit shopping centres.
Yes,the Victorians had some style.
I love Cardiff. Every year my friend’s mum used to organise a coach trip at Christmas to do Christmas shopping and we’d all shop until we dropped
There used to be some amazing shops in the arcade and the lights and the castle so pretty It always felt like the beginning of Christmas
We stopped during Covid and she’s too elderly now and we wouldn’t feel right going without her but we all miss it! We’d been doing it for 16 years!
We always had lunch in the The Louis before it closed, that was a Cardiff tradition as well
When I was very young a shopping trip to town always included a lunch at The Louis.
Unfortunately when BHS opened I had to make do with their cafeteria which wasn’t quite the treat.
It was unique, wasn’t it? Nowhere quite like it.Such a shame it closed
